SXSW Roundup

I wasn’t at SXSW (although I wish I had been), in fact I was following from afar, fervently trying to stay updated with the action via Twitter, and diligently adding the #notatsxsw hastag along with organising a breakfast with some fellow geeks here in Dubai to commiserate (thanks @MissGoogle @DanStuart @PKGulati). But maybe not being there gives you a different opinion, a chance to look at the lineup and try to find out what people thought about specific events, to follow-up with those whose opinion you value and then to try and read up about what people felt they learnt during those crazy More >

Who Comes to Making Digital Work?

I was flattered to receive the email invite to the upcoming BDW Making Digital Work workshop in Boulder, CO when I looked at some of the stats they were bringing up for attendees, it was great to see both the breadth of companies that have sent participants and also the record for Longest Distance Travelled was me from Dubai to New York!

The BDW workshop is an amazing experience and a valuable couple of days for marketers young and old, digital or analogue. Check out some of my own blog posts from the event last year in New York below:

One brand that jumps out of the pack is GoNabit, the leading group buying site in the region with operations in 6 markets and another 6 in the pipeline. I spoke to founder and CEO Dan Stuart (@DanStuart) about a couple of recent events that have really highlighted the work they are doing and shown them just how their customers are feeling about the brand.

#UsBlogs week 5 theme: “What Are You Afraid Of?” (and what are you doing about it)”

The world is changing, our lives are changing, business is changing – it seems like never in the history of humanity has change been so abound and so fast. Darwin made us understand the evolution of the species and changes in genetics, and history has taught us about how caveman found fire, and the creation of the internal combustion engine, but the rate of change (check out this interview on ‘Understanding the Accelerating Rate of Change‘) brought about by the evolving digital landscape, by the connections More >
